Well, we are wrapping up our homeschooling for this year, but we will Pseudo continue through the summer. I am not sure about what I will post here, but we will continue the learning. Next year is going to look very different for us. We will be doing a field trip model with the Snohomish school district instead of the school room model. This will allow us to be home more often and to create special family memories as well. Also, the kids will be all in separate years for AO. This will be challenging and exciting! Lord help me! OK, I know I can do it. I just need a big prep time...that is why I am starting NOW.

The cousins, gathered for a rare time together. James and Julieanna here from Brazil, and AJ, Joppa, Promise and Noah down from the chilly Alaskan tundra. Unfortunatly, it was the sad death of Uncle Kelly Aikins that drew us all together, but we made the best out of our time together, spending many afternoons playing and getting to know one another. The kids will always have this memory to share.

I can't believe we are on our twelfth week already! Yippee! It feels good to be consistent and on task in the homeschool world. I am going to try to cram a few more readings in than usual this week. I want to catch up and put some time "in the bank" so to speak, for the holidays. Minnie is gone...She is making her home at the Bicklers again. We have had her for almost 4 years and it will take me awhile to get over her not being here. It does make my life simpler, but she was always there for me, with a snuggle and a stolen kiss. Bye, Minnie Mouse, I look forward to seeing you again, soon.

What a great way to start our week! We spent the day with the Vanhoff's, made chili dinner, went to Madeliene Villa nursing home, drank Hot Buttered Rum (not the children, of course) and then went to a local neighborhood for more candy. The nursing home was such a great experience. This is Katherine. Today was her 98th birthday. She was born in Scotland and came to America when she was a small child. She was just one of the residents that we met tonight. The kids plan on taking us back there as a family to volunteer in the very near future.

Week 4

Rebecca is in California with her Grandparents, lucky duck! So, the boys and I are plunging ahead without her. She is supposed to be reading Alice in Wonderland, Busy Times, sketching, and doing her wordly wise. She will be visiting Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, and Sea World...So I am not sure how much "school" work she will be getting done, but she will have the time of her little life and much to narrate to us all on her return!

After a busy, busy weekend filled with Letterboxing on Whidbey Island and my trip to Vancouver, BC with my mom and sister, we are ready for our third week of Ambleside!
